In northern Arabia, the mighty Thamud people carved magnificent homes into the rocks. They prided themselves on their power and wealth, thinking themselves invincible. Allah sent Prophet Salih to guide them to the truth, calling them to worship only Him.
As a miracle, a she-camel emerged from a rock by Allah’s command. Salih warned them not to harm it, for it was a sign of God’s power. Yet they arrogantly killed the camel. Salih told them: “Live in your homes three more days, then punishment will strike.”
Over three days, their faces darkened as a sign of doom. Finally, a terrifying scream and a violent earthquake struck, leaving them lifeless and frozen like stones.
This story teaches humility, obedience to God, and taking heed of His signs.
